Barcode generator for asset labels
Type an asset ID, pick the barcode type and download a label-ready PNG or SVG. It all happens in your browser.
Barcodes that survive the shop floor
Print the code at least 1 inch tall and keep a clear margin either side; scanners need the quiet zone. Short IDs make wider bars, which read better on curved or worn surfaces. If labels will be scanned with phones as well as handheld scanners, consider a QR code instead.
Common questions
Which barcode type should I use for asset tags?
Code 128 suits most asset tags: it holds letters and numbers, prints compactly and every scanner reads it. Code 39 is older and wider but still common. Use QR codes when you want to scan with a phone camera from an angle.
Is this barcode generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
